A message from Mark Walton, President & CEO and Dr. Jennifer Caspers, Chief of Staff, reaffirming Guelph General Hospital’s commitment to providing safe and compassionate care

In light of recent stories in the media we want to share with you some of the tremendous efforts taken by Guelph General Hospital to support our patients, families, caregivers, and staff.

For nearly 150 years our community has relied on our hospital for safe and compassionate care. We are proud of our solid reputation.

The stories in the media are distressing for both those we serve and those that work here. We want to assure you that our hospital remains a place you can rely on for safe and compassionate care.

We take all concerns about care very seriously and work with our clinical teams to resolve them. The experiences shared recently by the media are the exception, not the norm.

Our health care system is under significant strain; we are seeing high volumes of patients who are very ill and experiencing considerable health human resource challenges. Despite this, we continue to do everything we can to provide the level of care our community has come to expect and the working environment our team depends on to deliver exceptional care.

We are grateful for the support and help our team offers each other and their ability to work creatively and collaboratively.

If you require medical attention, Guelph General Hospital, remains a safe place to come for care.

Thank you.

Mark Walton, President & CEO
