Responding to the increased presence of COVID-19 in Guelph-Wellington

Following guidance from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to return to more restricted infection prevention measures at Guelph General Hospital. With COVID-19 cases on the rise in our community and hospital, we need to take added precaution to ensure you feel safe in our care.

Effective today, September 11, 2023 we will move back to phase one of our mask-friendly approach.

What you can expect when you visit us:

  • Masks are required in clinical areas (i.e. nursing stations, in patient rooms, and waiting rooms)
  • Masks are not required in nonclinical areas (i.e. hallways, meeting rooms, breakrooms, the Bistro, and shared offices)

Masking stations are available at the entrances to our facilities as well as at nursing stations. There are also collection bins at various locations across the hospital where you can discard disposable masks as part of our green, waste diversion initiative.

We realize this news will affect each of us differently, please be kind to yourself and each other as we navigate this next phase of pandemic.

Thank you.

Vice President, People & Support Services
