We do not provide high school co-op placements.

Student must comply with the requirements of his/her academic institution.

Contact your academic institution coordinator directly to see if your academic institution has an affiliation agreement with us. We are not able to provide post-secondary placements without an affiliation agreement.

You must return your ID badge and lanyard to Volunteer Resources on the last day of your placement.

Your instructor will provide you with your ID badge on the first day of your placement.

You must return your ID badge to your GGH preceptor on the last day of your placement.

GGH provides lockers for students. Each student must bring his/her own lock to secure his/her belongings. Students are responsible to remove his/her lock each day and to keep locker clean.
Students may purchase parking passes using cash, credit or debit from the Information Desk located in the main lobby (Level 1) of the hospital.
Rates are as follows:
- Daily Rate $12.25
- 24-hour pass with unlimited entry and exit for $14.25
- 5, 24-hour passes for $35.50
- 10, 24-hour passes for $71.25
- 30, 24-hour passes for $213.50

All students must have their medical compliance confirmation form signed by their academic institution as part of the Student Placement Package based on the requirements under the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocol.
Failure to provide any of the required information will result in the delay of your placement.
- TB Testing takes up to 2 weeks to complete.
- Bloodwork to prove immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and hepatitis B can take a few weeks. If the results are negative or inconclusive, you will need booster shots, wait for up 8 weeks and then re-do the bloodwork to ensure immunity.

All students must bring a copy of his/her Vulnerable Sector Check to Volunteer Resources before going to your specific department. The PVSC must be dated within 1 year.

GGH does not provide respirator fit testing for students. Students must have this completed prior to placement. Respirator Fit make and model must be noted on your College/University ID

All students must complete the GGH Post Secondary Student Placement Orientation and Mandatory training and submit the documentation at least four weeks before your scheduled placement date. Failure to do so will delay your placement start date.

The student will need to contact the placement office at his/her academic institution ASAP directly for further instruction.
